We welcome members and conference attendees from any state. The traditional states for the Southwest region include: AR, CO, KS, NM, OK, TX, UT
On Friday October 25 the annual SWASTE regional conference will kick off with an evening fieldtrip to the Amazeum (a children’s science center) where we will have dinner and tour the exhibits.After this we will spend some time at Crystal Bridges (a museum of American art) on the same grounds as the Amazeum.
Saturday, October 26th is when the conference presentations will take place. We will be meeting on the University of Arkansas campus in the college of education buildings. Lunch will be provided. Additionally, Dr. Daniel Kennefick, a physics professor at the University, will be giving a keynote address where he will discuss his latest book entitled “No Shadow of a Doubt: The 1919 Eclipsethat Confirmed Einstein’s Theory of Relativity.”
A proposal submission form will go live in the next few weeks and proposals will be due by July 22nd. We look forward to seeing you in Northwest Arkansas this Fall!
The South-West region of ASTE was proud to present graduate student travel award at ASTE 2019 this January to Drew Gossen. Drew is a PhD student from Oklahoma State University under the mentorship of Dr. Toni Ivey.
