4:00pm Pre-Conference Glass Bottom Boat Tour and Fossil Hike
The pre-conference field trip is designed through a partnership between Texas State University faculty and the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment to focus on the unique geology of San Marcos. The field trip will include a glass-bottom boat tour of Spring Lake and a short, uphill, off-road hike to a Cretaceous fossil bed. The excursion should last approximately 1.5 hours. Water, sunscreen, suitable close-toed shoes and perhaps something to keep your fossil treasures in for the trip home are recommended for this excursion. The fee for the excursion is $5 per person. Please include the number of family or guests that plan to attend and any accommodations that may be necessary for participation.
6:00pm Dinner at the Kerbey Lane Café overlooking Spring Lake. Dinner is not included in the conference registration fee.
